Cyril Nri is a British Nigerian Actor who went on to appear in numerous TV shows, including Waking the Dead, Law & Order UK, Doctors, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Cucumber, Goodnight Sweetheart, Death in Paradise, Noughts and Crosses, Daddy Issues, and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Cyril has also appeared in multiple stage productions such as The Observer at the Royal National Theatre, Greg Doran’s Royal Shakespeare Company production of Julius Caesar, Simon Godwin’s Hamlet for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre’s Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress and the Young Vic’s 2023 revival of Zinnie Harris’ Further than the Furthest Thing.

Background (Before 2003)
Cyril Nri is a Nigerian-born British actor, best known for playing Superintendent Adam Okaro in the police TV series The Bill. Born in Nigeria, his family are Igbo (ethnic tribe) and fled the country in 1968 before the end of the Nigerian Civil War.
Cyril moved to Portugal when he was seven and then relocated to London. After attending drama school at the Bristol Old Vic, Cyril started acting at The Royal Shakespeare Company, where his first role was Lucius in Ron Daniels’ 1982 production of Julius Caesar.
Cyril then played Ariel in Jonathan Miller’s 1988 production of The Tempest. He also had a role as Graham in the cult BBC TV drama series This Life.
