Henry Bonsu

Henry Bonsu is a British African Broadcaster and Media Consultant who in 2001, reported for a BBC 4 programme “Crossing Continents” from Zurich about the demise of the airline Swissair. Henry helped create Colourful Radio, a London radio station launched in 2006 aimed at the Black community.
In 2007, he presented the station’s drivetime show. In the same year, Colourful Radio was broadcast on digital radio, and Henry presented a series for BBC Radio 4 about Africa, which perpetuated the slave trade alongside Europeans. In July 2015, he hosted eight events at the landmark Financing for Development conference in Addis Ababa, introducing the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, and Jim Kim, the president of the World Bank.
Henry has hosted summits at the UN General Assembly in New York, Brussels, The Hague, Kigali, Mexico City, Abidjan, and Incheon, Korea. By 2022, Bonsu had moderated a considerable amount of conferences for the United Nations and moderated a range of other conferences on broad topics.

Henry started his career as a journalist with BBC radio in 1990, working on programmes such as Today, World at One, Public Eye, and Black Britain. The opportunity he received from the Voice Newspaper was fundamental in opening up his career within the wider media industry.
