Inder Manocha

Inder Manocha is a British-Indian stand-up comedian and Actor who has starred in various films and TV shows, notably Holby City, Skins, Waking the Dead, and Madonna’s 2008 directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom.
Inder’s first one-man show at Edinburgh Festival was in 2006. He was a regular performer in the award-winning and critically acclaimed comedy storytelling show ‘Immigrant Diaries’, which was performed in venues including the Southbank Centre, the Leicester Square Theatre, and the House of Lords.
Inder has appeared at The Trinity Ball at Cambridge University, co-presenting awards with the then HRH Prince Charles, now known as King Charles III.
Inder has also appeared at gigs for Barclays Bank’s cultural division and several high-profile Asian events. His comedy is rooted in his experiences as a British Asian, and he is hugely popular with both White and Asian audiences across the UK and around the world.
Background (Before 2004)
Inder Manocha is a British-Indian stand-up comedian, actor, and member of the Baháʼí Faith who has performed stand-up comedy worldwide since 2000.
Born in London to Indian and Iranian parents, he read Modern History at Jesus College, Oxford University and worked in international relations and as a therapist. In 2001, he decided to work professionally in comedy and acting. That year, he began his stand-up career by reaching the finals of So You Think You’re Funny and the Hackney Empire New Comedy Acts of the Year.
At 2003’s Edinburgh Festival, he was invited to perform twice at the “Best of the Fest Show” and then for the show’s entire run at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre. He has played at all of the major comedy venues across the UK, from the Comedy Store to Jongleurs to Hackney Empire.
