John’s literature often highlighted the plight of the oppressed, fostering empathy and understanding among diverse audiences.
In his 1936 novel, In Dubious Battle, John delved into the complexities of labor strikes, shedding light on the struggles between migrant workers and oppressive agricultural systems. This work underscored the importance of collective action and the fight for equitable treatment.
